Glory
very Category #5 Revival in this
country has been preceded by repentance. We had a taste of that last
Wednesday. Years ago, Alex and I were involved in the Charismatic
Renewal; he, as a regional director of the Full Gospel Businessmen;
myself, as the first editor of the first Charismatic publishing
company, Logos. We had often seen men and women try to start a work
in self. They might persuade others to join them pushing a huge
boulder up a steep hill. But too often, it was neither inspired nor
led by the Spirit. It was flesh, trying to be spiritual, and He
would allow the boulder to roll back down on them and flatten
them.
So we have proceeded with due caution,
determined to keep our hands off of His noon hour. Whatever
happened, it would be His doing, not ours. And while we are both
Charismatic, we did not want to alarm anyone, and kept our natural
inclination to praise God freely, as His Spirit led, in
check.
From a word Alex received early
Wednesday morning – and subsequently shared at the noon hour – it
would seem that we were too cautious.
You have erred in the sincerity
in the conduct of the Boston Noon Hour. You did, so that
none would be offended, and all would have comfort in the prayer
setting. You showed a good heart in your concern, but you have
missed the mark of my
will.
This prayer revival is a revival of my indwelling Presence. I
am gracing you and others to walk in my Presence, to pray in my
Presence, and ultimately to minister my Presence, to those whom I
will send.
Do not be concerned if it becomes too Charismatic in your
view; just know that I have placed a deep longing in the hearts of
my chosen ones to enter into the Shekinah Glory of my
Presence.
This is the purpose of this revival, and this is what I have
prepared you for. I say
to you this day: Do not be hesitant, do not be inhibited; minister
my Presence to my
people.
So – we did. We had a wonderful,
free-flowing, rejoicing prayer hour. Everyone there could feel the
difference – and His good pleasure. As we will soon be sharing
on the air-waves. This
morning, He provided another word for us – for all of us.
I have brought you and Alex to a
place where you must now put into practice what you have both long
been preaching. You call others to live wholly for me and not
themselves. Now you must set the example. I am cleansing your hands.
I am purifying your hearts. I am renewing your minds. The cleansing
and purifying and renewing is at times painful. I am aware of that.
I am also providing the grace which will enable each of you to take
the next step.
Take it. You have no wisdom to
impart, no great teaching or profound philosophy. You have only your
testimony and your example. But that is enough, if you will
consecrate yourselves to me.
