Historical TREMONT TEMPLE

A lthough the Tremont Temple Baptist Church is one of Boston's largest churches, the acoustics are superb. The sanctuary seats more than 1,800, with front row center of the second balcony best for overall viewing. The church is built of Venetian stone and terra cotta, with stained glass windows depicting the 12 apostles.

Tremont Temple was the country's first integrated church. It was founded by Timothy Gilbert, a white man, during the Civil War after Gilbert was refused entrance to a church because he was accompanied by a black friend.

It is now a popular venue for gospel groups, such as Anointed, and hosts the Black Nativity at Christmas. Best bet for parking is the garage at One Beacon Street or Center Plaza.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING AND SUBWAY: Park St. at Boston Commons (walk 400 yards to Tremont)

Best bet for parking is the garage at One Beacon Street or Center Plaza.

Location: Converse Hall (Tremont Temple) off the common on Tremont St, downtown Boston.

We may also be using the afternoon location at Faniel Hall if we confirm that.

Meetings will be taped live for post production Television. editing and possible broadcast on DAYSTAR. They have okayed the proposal but the final decisions depend on the quality and content after we edit and produce the shows.

We are filming three shows.

AM: Morning Song.  (copyright)

We begin at 6 am with set up and pre-prayer time. We hit the streets of Boston at 8:Am with live cameras interviewing city residents as the city is coming to life. The topic is on the subject of prayer, “Do you believe in Prayer? What is prayer? Does God answer prayer? Have you ever had a prayer answered that you’d like to tell us about? Do you need prayer? Can we pray for you?” And out of these pop interviews we will broadcast some of them. People love a camera and it is amazing how it loosens them up to talk.

Then we will be in the studio at Converse Hall’s set at 10:am to have a live studio audience for Morning Song for 30 minutes. Alex Canavan and David Manuel will be asked to host this. Topics will be journaling daily with God, listening to His voice, meditating on the Psalms, Gospels and Epistles. Testimonies from the audience will be selected. And live web participation will be fed into the set if we get the equipment we need by then.

 Afternoons: Resurrect America (Copyright)

Hopefully at Faniel Hall.

Invited Hosts:

Shelli Baker, Peter Marshall, David Manuel

Guests will be asked to assist us on the subject of American Heritage and current event issues, evaluating them on the basis of how they do or do not line up with the Founding Father’s vision for this nation and the Bible. We need volunteers to be out on the street in the Market area passing out flyers to ask people to visit the show. We will be giving out tickets for free studio audience seats.  We want to fill Faniel Hall.

PM:  Celebrate New England!(copyright)

7:30- 10:30 PM

At Tremont Temple Converse Hall

Camp meeting style, lots of music, choirs, testimonies.

We hope to fill 1800 seats each night with a wide representation of New England churches.

Let us gather to celebrate Jesus not only when we are times of Crisis. Let us praise him for victories we need and have won.

Pastors are invited to sit on the platform and to let us know any brief message they want to share on this theme of celebration, praise and prayer. There will be an open mic with respect to keeping if brief.

 What we need?

Funding. The hall costs $900 per day and there is insurance. We have 3 days to pay for. There is also a cost of $750 for Fanueil Hall on Sat the 5th. Then there is required insurance and also  rental costs on our equipment and other odds and ends and advertising and offerings for certain helpers ect… We would love to have this expense covered before the event starts, at least the facility rental.
